A Large and Looming Question:
To All of You Quoted Here, Where were you during the Trump Administration?
Of all of the quotes collected here by the Editorial Board of the New York Times, I have one question for those who collected and those who wrote all of these noble words about how shocked you are at Trump’s behavior. Why did you wait until recently to make these comments of scorn for the Trump administration (and I’m using that word loosely).
There are two types of testifiers in this article: some stood up at the time and testified at Trump’s impeachment trial concerning the “January 6th Event”. It cost you your position, your place, your comfort, and some of your friends to do that. Others of you slithered along the path of appeasing and justifying Trump’s extraordinary behavior during his presidency. You have even invited him to a repeat performance of his mendacity.
You know who you are in the halls of power: it’s always possible to walk out the back door, to take a trip out of country, to wait it out until the news cycle breaks, to talk with dead eyes at the camera —
