Like many unknown to you, many are suffering from an American singularity. What I mean by that — is the turn from “America is for all of us” to “America is only for some of us”. It’s frequently someone else’s fault when things go bad, isn’t it? But . . . in this case, the fault kept shifting from one guilty party to the next. During this time, Greed stood in the corner and laughed. It wasn’t until the surpluses disappeared until we found out, collectively, that we were the next in line.
Since the 1990s, we job holders have been taught to expect punishment for mis-use of funds, laziness, and ignorance (among other things) as we have, one by one, lost our jobs, our businesses, our very identities to corporate take-overs. At first, it was the “military-industrial” corporations. Bloated with money from graft and warfare profits, they took a dive first, along with steel, and the auto industry. Many of us breathed a sigh of relief: thinking good! It’s fixed! There will be better times for the rest of us.
But, there were larger purges to take effect. Each time, we breathed a sigh of relief and hoped for a better future, knowing it was “the bad guys, not us”. By now, it’s becoming obvious that the grasp for assets will not stop until there are no more assets to be had. Perhaps by then, they can all fly to Mars and start the cycle over again. Won’t it be fun!
Don’t ever forget! We are all our own corporation . . .
