During Covid, I began to explore making jewelry. As a native of the Southwest U.S. (Arizona/New Mexico/West Texas) I shared an affinity to indigenous art of that area, and sometimes I think the dust of four generations permeates my blood. I have referenced what I have seen and loved, and hoped to have honored it rather than stolen something. It is a strange thing to feel that something is a part of you because of where you live. You want to reference that magic, but not steal it. My calling card is “Human Hands”. What do you think?
Patricia- Thanks for sharing these. That third piece really speaks to me. I think it’s fantastic. Cheers, -Thalia
Thank you. Very kind of you to comment. So interesting to work with only “real” pieces. So much of what we see is mass-produced repetition.
Thinking, designing, and crafting. Go for it.
I love hand made items. I always try to find hand crafted stuff if possible, even if it is a bit more expensive. Beautifully done.
It sure beats consumer costume jewelry.
wonderful
Thank you!
